There’s a lot of catching up to do. My last post was back in January. I did finish reading a couple books between now and then but I didn’t have time to write reviews on them because I was busy moving my blog to another hosting server. This would be a good time for me to update my blog especially I just finish reading the Fifty Shades trilogy just last weekend. There is a lot of hypes going around right now about Fifty Shades of Grey due to studio buying the movie rights. I thought I should experience the hype myself and dare I say, it wasn’t disappointing.
They are talking about cast on this movie. I can picture Alexandar Skargard or even Ryan Gosling as Christian Grey but I would put my foot down on no for Robert Pattinson. He just doesn’t have the suave to play a handsome sexually charged billianaire. As for Anastasia Steele, she gave a innocent and driven flair. Lily Collins has the soft innocent look on her. I have to say no to Kristen Stewart too because her looks are too hard for Anastasia’s character.
When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind – until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.
The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her – but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever
First of all, I love the cover. I reminds me of Christian favorite grey tie and all the kinky things he would with it. It always bring smile to my face just thinking about it. Hmm… savoring it right now.
The book was about Christian presenting a contractual dominant/submission relationship to Ana. Little did he know, the longer he was in the relationship with Ana, the more Ana has Christian wrapped around her finger. I love Christian’s character, the dark background of his childhood shaped up the way he was trying to find the light with the help from Ana with her defy and challenges Christian every chance she gets. Who wouldn’t love a handsome billionaire who worship every step you take?
A lot of people rated the book as pornography. I would not go that far especially I just finished two books from the Cherise Sinclair’s Master of Shadowland Series. Fifty Shades would be considered mild in my opinion.
There is a lot of unnecessary repetition up and downs within the story. When the book ended with a cliffhanger with Ana decided to break if off with Christian, I was like a crazy person shouting “NOOOOOOOO” to my Kindle. I just knew what I have to do right away. Amazon Kindle Store, here I come! I have to continue onto the next book right away because I just could not get enough of Ana and Christian.
Memorable Quote: “Fuck the paperwork.”
