I like to give my support to new authors and 99¢ for the book doesn’t hurt either.
The story started slowly with a girl, Anastasia (Ana for short) on the run with her mother, seem to be hiding from something or someone. The action picked up pretty fast after a third into the book and kept me chasing the next chapter after next. I was a bit skeptical at first when the Vampires and Witches both existed within the book.
I was frustrated with the countless swinging back and forth on the love interest between Tristan and Darren. Split between past love Tristan or open her heart to a new love didn’t seem enough with her trying to find herself and figuring out her powers.
The ending gave it a surprising twist. Apparently Ana was given chances to reincarnate to right the original wrong and the lifetime she was on was the last. Can she do it? I can’t really tell if this is a good or bad twist but I will definitely pick it up to see how the story unfolds. I do have to give the book some credit for it did had an original idea on the origin on Vampires.
According to the blog, the second book of the series will be released in June 2011.
